Yes, eyelid primer is a thing.

15. Primer? BB? CC? What does it all mean?

Primer? BB? CC? What does it all mean?
Moisturizing before makeup is a given; it smooths your skin for a better canvas. But there’s more. BB cream (aka Beauty Balms or Blemish Balms) will add a layer of sheer coverage and additional moisture to your skin, while primer will brighten your colors, extending the life of your makeup on your face and in the tube. (CC creams, if you’re wondering, are similar to BB creams, but include color-correcting pigments.)

16. Clean with primer, not makeup remover.

Don’t put your primer away yet! If you make a misstep during your beauty routine, primer is the best clean-up agent out there. It will smooth off the residue and prep the skin for fresh makeup. This Shiseido primer is great, and has an SPF of 21.

17. Layer for longevity.

The same concept that gets your lipstick to stay put can be applied elsewhere. Layer different types of blush for an all-day glow. Put a cream blush on over your foundation, set it with translucent powder, and then lightly dust powder blush over top.

18. Know your skin type.

Know your skin type.
Everything from powder to concealer to primer will work with your skin type if you let it. For example: Oily skin calls for a powder blush, while dry-skinned folks should opt for a cream blush. The more you know.

A subtle shade can add staying power to your lip color of choice or give a well-defined polished look to a neutral gloss with just a tiny bit of of blending.

17 Style Trends Every Latina Who Grew Up in the '90s Remembers

1. Dark lip liner. How did this ever become a trend? The liner was usually a really dark brown, burgundy, or even black color. You would pay little attention to the fact that you basically had a black halo around your bright red lips. In fact, you thought you looked muy linda.

2. That little fake birthmark you'd put right above your lip. You'd do this to bring more attention to your outlined lips. Or you'd do it because you thought it somehow made you look a lot sexier. Either way, you weren't fooling anyone.
3. A thick, gold-plated name chain. And it was never a small chain. You wanted everyone to know your name so badly that you'd purchase the biggest, thickest gold plate you could find.
4. Doorknocker earrings. I still have my pair in my jewelry case (ah, memories.) You were hot shit if you had a fresh pair of bamboo earrings, and you were pretty much untouchable if you had tons in different shapes and sizes.
5. Using a bandana as a headband. Or using that bandana to stand in for any other article of clothing. It even works as a crop top.
6. A name belt. You loved the name mami and papi gave you — a lot. First there was a black leather belt with your name written in all caps across a metal plate (you were hot shit if you had this one too). But that wasn't enough, so an electronic name belt did the trick. Having your name scroll across a metal plate in a rainbow of colors was for sure a fashion #win.
7. Really hard, crunchy, curly hair. Every Latina was guilty of this at least once (yes, even you). As soon as you washed your hair and stepped out of the shower, you'd douse your locks with an endless amount of gel until your hair was so hard it wouldn't move.

8. Blonde or caramel highlights. You just wanted your hair to look like J.Lo's, OK?
9. Colombian jeans. You know the ones: low-rise jeans without pockets in the back that you swore would make your ass look so much bigger than it actually is. If you're currently suffering from memory loss, refer to Shakira's "Whenever, Wherever" video for a quick reminder.
10. Anything Baby Phat, Rocawear, or Sean Jean. Remember when J.Lo wore that Sean Jean belly top during the 2000 VMAs? Every Latina ran to department stores on the hunt for that infamous top the very next day.
11. Every single pair of Jordans. Not to mention multiple pairs of the same shoe in different colors. You'd literally lose your shit if someone stepped on them by accident, and you'd always coordinate your outfit with the colors of your sneakers.
12. Timberland heels. Who can forget old-school J.Lo strutting along the streets of the Bronx in her "Jenny From the Block" video with her Manolos that looked an awful lot like Timberland boots? Well, not all of us can go out and buy $800 Manolos on a whim, so you settled for a bootleg pair and you rocked the shit out of them.

13. Super-shiny, super-sticky rollerball lip gloss. It came in a bunch of different flavors, but the prettiest colors of the bunch were obviously red and pink. They sold these lip glosses at pretty much any clothing store, and they were propped right at the cash register, just waiting for you to fall into temptation.
14. Glittery butterfly clips. These were just awesome. Attaching these colorful, glittery clips to your hair just to watch the wings bounce and flap up and down gave you all the more reason to practice your hair flip.
15. Spider comb headbands. You didn't use them for the sake of getting your hair off your face. No, you started pulling your hair back in perfectly sectioned chunks because all the "cool girls" did it. You'd buy them in different colors and designs — some were even bedazzled with colorful diamonds — just to show off how trendy you were.
16. Long acrylic tips. I'm assuming every Latina looked to Ivy Queen for this one. Oh, and they had to be French manicured too.
17. A denim jumpsuit. You can blame (or thank) J.Lo for this one. You swore you'd look just as badass as she did when she rocked this trend, but then you remembered you're not J.Lo and you don't have a huge team of stylists to make sure your outfit is constantly on point.
